The problem with getting hooked on fancy lace underwear is that you also get hooked on a high-maintence laundry routine. They need to be washed on a delicate cycle inside a lingerie bag with special detergent. Oy! And then god forbid you accidentally throw them in the dryer. A disaster!
Laundry experts agree that thongs are one of the trickiest items to wash. So--what do they say is the one thing you should NEVER do when washing yours?
The answer: putting them in the dryer!
There is no setting cool or gentle enough to effectively dry your thongs AND preserve them. Any heat will destroy the elastic--you must always air dry. This keeps your thongs in the best condition possible, aka so they last forever. Repeat after me: you must always air dry!
In fact, you shouldn't just air dry--you should dry them flat on a towel. This is the best way to keep their shape. Hanging them can stretch them out. After you remove them from the wash, gently press out any excess water with your hands, then lay them out flat on a clean, dry towel.
