The One Thing You Should Never Order At Taco Bell (It Has Over 2,000 Calories)

February 9, 2017 by Katelyn Holland

If you're looking for a healthy fast food option, Taco Bell isn't necessarily the first place that comes to mind. The fast food chain is known for their tacos, burritos, and creative food combinations (who can forget the Doritos taco). From a taco with a fried chicken shell to Starburst flavored drink, it's clear that the chain's focus isn't your waistline. There are a few menu items that you should avoid at all costs. These meals are packed with calories and fat. Click through the slideshow to find out which menu items you should never order at Taco Bell.

Taco Bell's "biggest burrito" is also the food joint's unhealthiest menu item. The XXL Grilled Stuft Burrito Beef is monstrosity of meat and cheese. It comes in steak, beef and chicken varieties and contains avocado ranch sauce, cheddar, pico de gallo, guac, sour cream, refried beans, and a shredded three cheese blend. The XXL burrito clocks in anywhere from 830 to 880 calories, with an average of over 37 grams of fat (Fitday).

In fact, it was deemed on of the "unhealthiest meals in America." Since these burritos are so cheap (less than $5!), it's tempting to get more than just one. Add a drink and nachos, and you're looking at well over 2,000 calories for one meal.

Prefer to drink your calories? Then you'll love the Mountain Dew Baja Blast. The 40 ounce size of the green drink has 550 calories. The drink has absolutely zero nutritional value and will make any meal a true gut buster.

Taco Bell's Fiesta Taco Salad stands to disprove the notion that tacos are always healthy. This salad will set you back 730 to 780 calories. You might as well just eat a taco.

Believe it or not, Taco Bell isn't all bad. It's the first fast-food chain to offer meat-free meals certified by the American Vegetarian Association. Taco Bell has also pledged to remove all artificial preservatives and additives in their food by the end of 2017.

There are even a few healthy menu options. At only 160 calories, Eat This, Not That approves of the chain's Chicken Soft Taco. The Chipotle Chicken Load Griller (360 calories) is also a good option if you are craving a burrito. For your nachos fix, try the Nacho Supreme.
