More inside details about palace life have leaked, including a major warning The Queen issued to her grandsons, Prince William and Prince Harry, before they got married to Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle, respectively. According to reports, the 95-year-old British monarch told her grandsons that “enough is enough” in terms of the divorces that the royal family have experienced over the years, and if they chose to get married, it would have to be for life!
“Both Princes William and Harry have been in no doubt that when they marry, it’s for keeps,” a Buckingham Palace insider revealed. “The Queen is the head of the Church and so from a point of principle she is opposed to royal divorces.”
"However, she has witnessed the divorces not just of her sister Princess Margaret, but also those of her three eldest children," the insider continued, in relation to Princess Anne divorcing Captain Mark Phillips in 1992, Prince Charles divorcing Princess Diana in 1996, and Prince Andrew divorcing Sarah Ferguson that same year too.
"She now feels, to put it bluntly, that enough is enough," the palace insider added. "She does not want to name names, but she is adamant that there are going to be no further royal divorces during her reign." The source went on to confirm that Her Majesty "inherited a lot of her views from her mother, who was scarred by the King Edward and Wallis Simpson scandal," as well as the aforementioned divorces that she also experienced during her time on the throne.
