The coronavirus pandemic has put a damper on many public engagements for the time being. Queen Elizabeth, who normally has a packed schedule, is keeping her calendar clear for the next few months.

Like other celebrities and public officials, the Queen had to change the way she normally engages in public events. Due to her age and the nature of her social calls, her royal duties put her at risk of contracting the COVID-19 virus.
A royal spokesperson stated,“The Queen won’t do anything which goes against the advice of people in her [age] category, and she’s going to take all the appropriate advice. There are discussions what we could do and couldn’t do come October.”
So, it looks like it will be well into fall before the Queen will even consider resuming her normal activities. However, that’s not slowing Queen Elizabeth down. She continues to carry out official duties by phone or video conference.
The Queen is currently sheltering-in-place at Windsor Castle with her husband, Prince Philip. She recently broadcasted from Windsor Castle to mark the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II in Europe. The Queen expressed her gratitude for the efforts people are taking to stop the spread of the virus as well as promised that someday “we will meet again.”
