Facial rejuvenation acupuncture is a great alternative to botox as it works to stimulate collagen production thereby helping your skin look younger and brighter.
Refinery spoke to acupuncturist Jo Curle, who works out of Heaton Acupuncture Clinic. She explained how FEA works as an anti-aging treatment: "Ultra-fine needles placed on systemic points activate muscles in the face and neck to lift, improve tone and increase circulation of the blood and lymph. This helps clear the complexion, reduce redness and gives a youthful glow. These points can also help with acne."
Then, they target wrinkles and fine lines. Curle told the outlet,"Much smaller, micro-needles are inserted into frown lines and wrinkles, causing a micro-trauma that stimulates the body to produce collagen to gently fill out the line."
"The needles stimulate the skin’s self-repairing mechanisms, bringing all its healing potential to the surface of the skin. They increase oxygen flow, stimulate micro-circulation to nourish the skin, and accelerate cellular waste elimination," she continued.
According to Healthline, this treatment has fast results (though not as instant as botox): "One study found that the majority of people saw improvements after just five sessions of facial acupuncture."
It can also be a more affordable option.
Plus, the benefits of acupuncture do not stop at anti-aging. Acupuncture is utilized for its many other health benefits; it's also used for headaches, muscle pains, cramps, and anxiety.
It's no wonder that so many celebs have made the switch!
