Going out in public has never been so terrifying; the COVID-19 pandemic has kept many of us inside for months, and now that states are reopening many of us are wondering if it’s safe. Doctors warn that you should be prepared every time you leave the house; it’s a whole new world out there than the last time you were out there.

"We have to consider others around us more so than ever before," Harmony Healthcare International (HHI) CEO and president Kris Mastrangelo, OTR/L, LNHA, MBA, tells us. "You have to account for people who are going to venture out into the public that may be asymptomatic and unaware, he warns. "You never know when you are standing next to a long-term healthcare worker that needs to go back to work at the nursing home with the most vulnerable population."
But that's not all--doctors warn that people are not bringing the necessary supplies with them when venturing out of the home that might help them to avoid spreading the virus:

"Another common mistake is leaving the house without hand sanitizer," ophthalmologist and internal medicine specialist Dr. Lee Schwartz tells us. "It is very common for all of us to touch our face many times a day. One should resist this as much as possible when traveling among groups and when touching public surfaces. More importantly, avoid rubbing your eyes."
