Celebrities are known for their gorgeous hair that seems exempt from common problems like breakage, frizz, and hair loss. But, celeb hairstylists say that’s not the case at all. In fact, most A-listers rely on this insider celebrity thinning hair trick to keep their hair looking thick and full–and all it requires is a texture spray!

Celebrity Thinning Hair Trick

Thinning hair and bald spots become more noticeable if the hair looks lifeless. Bill Angst, celebrity hairstylist and owner of Angst Hair, says that using a texture spray is a great way to work around this common problem, and that it’s a popular hair product among celebrities because of its volumizing and youthful effect on the hair.

“A texturizing spray will help add volume and character,” he explains. “Random wand waves will also add to the volume and draw the eye to this detail.”

Learn How To Use Texture Spray For Volume!

Thankfully, texture sprays are SO easy to use. All you need to do is add some spritz to damp or dry hair and follow up with a curling iron to get perfect, voluminous waves. “Keeping the product at least six inches away from your hair will give you the best outcome,” A-list hairstylist Marc Mena advises. Another pro-tip is to lift the hair one side at a time and spray while you drop the sections of hair after you’ve curled it–this is how you get those effortless, piecey curls.

It can even work as a dry shampoo, too! “It’s an under-the-radar way to give your hair an extra boost on your second or third day between washes,” according to Kathy Benghanem, celebrity hairstylist. It’s actually better to apply texture spray under your strands to help prevent it from having a flattening effect on the hair. “Lift your hair as you spray to make sure you get product underneath the surface, too,” celeb hairstylist Kristin Ess explains.

More Celebrity Thinning Hair Tricks That Stylists Always Do

There are other easy celebrity thinning hair tricks that you can add into your hair care routine. To start, Jen Atkin, celebrity hairstylist, OUAI Haircare founder, and friend to the stars, says that most of her clients dry their hair with an old cotton t-shirt to prevent breakage to keep their hair healthy. “I always suggest my clients dry their hair with an old cotton t-shirt instead of a towel out of the shower,” she tells Marie Claire. “Wet strands are much more fragile and prone to breakage and the harsh fibers of a towel can be too aggressive.”

In addition to this unconventional drying method, Atkin revealed that a lot of her A-list friends stick to a strict hair care vitamin regimen. “Popping vitamins ensures scalp health, allowing it to grow in faster, thicker, and healthier,” she says. If thinning hair is a major concern for you, then Atkin suggests opting for hair-specific vitamins that are formulated to repair the strands and target hair growth.

It’s also a good idea to start using a heat protectant of some sort if you style your hair most days. Atkins says that this is a “non-negotiable” step and suggests using a hair oil because it will protect your hair from heat damage and prevent color from fading.
