Chapped lips season is in full swing. Since we already know that licking our dry lips or applying too much lip balm (leading to a smooth lips addiction) are no-nos, what else should we do to protect our pouts?

Turns out, there is a food that's making our chapped lips worse.
Dr. Jessica Wu, a Los Angeles-based dermatologist and assistant clinical professor of dermatology at the University of Southern California's School of Medicine, and Dr. Cybele Fishman, a board-certified dermatologist based in New York Cit, shared with Today the one food we should never eat when we have chapped lips--->
Do NOT chew mint gum. OK, so gum isn't exactly food, but it's still something we put in our mouth so...
But why gum?
"While that cooling feeling may seem like a good thing, these ingredients are often just initially masking what may become worse problems," said Fishman.
Ever heard of not using a lip balm with menthol because it actually makes your lips more chapped? Same thing here.
