So, you over plucked your eyebrows and now they’re refusing to grow back? Unfortunately, that’s a reality for many women. In search of a perfect sculpted brow, it can become all too simple to go too far and pluck a few too many hairs. Once you pluck too often in the same place, you kill the hair follicle itself. Brow-growing serums may help, as can procedures like microblading, but for everyday makeup looks, you may be in need of a few great tips on how to quickly fluff up your brows with no fuss.

A makeup pro was kind enough to share her best hack for fuller brows fast. Here’s everything you need to know — from which products to buy to how to perform her technique — so that you can get gorgeous brows fast.

Draw Lines on Top of Your Brow

One common way that many people fill in their brows is by drawing lines and filling them in at the base of your brow, which may be where you see the majority of sparseness. But doing this can appear less natural and cut off the distance between your lashes and lower eyelids and brows. A more effective and natural way of grooming your brows actually starts by lining the top of your brows.

Instead of brushing your eyebrows upward, brush them downward. Taking a quality eyebrow pencil like one from Anastasia brow, create little hair-like flecks where you see sparseness in your upper brow. It’s important top use a shade that is as close to your natural color (not too dark or too light) as possible. When you’re satisfied with your pencil handiwork, use a spoolie to blend out the color and make it look more natural.

Now it’s time to focus on the baseline of your brows. Brush your brows upward and search for areas of sparseness. Use very light strokes with the same pencil to fill in these areas. Again, blending out the color is important so that your brows look as natural as possible, especially up close. Brush your brows upward until all of the color blends in seamlessly.

Set Brows with Gel

An eyebrow gel is your final step. You can select one in a clear formula or tinted to give lighter brows a bit of a wake-up call. Brush the gel want upward and follow the natural line of your brow. If any stray hairs stick out, trimming them may be a good step.

Consider an Eyebrow Serum

Serums have come a long way. A lot of eyebrow serums on the market contain ingredients like peptides that help boost hair follicle growth and have been proven effective. Patience is key — you won’t see results right away. If you’re on a strict budget, you can substitute brow serum with castor oil, which promote healthier, stronger hair and follicles.
