At one point or another, every woman has thought about getting a Brazilian wax. They're extremely convenient, especially during the summertime when you want to have a clean bikini line. If you're going to get your first Brazilian wax, you should know a thing or two before you lie on the waxing bed. Believe me, I wish I knew these four tips before my first Brazilian wax.

First off, you're going to feel nervous or self conscious about stripping down and showing your lady parts to a random stranger. This isn't a down-to-business Tinder hookup, this is a professional waxing experience, so no need to feel any awkwardness! Your waxer has seen tons of vaginas in his or her life doing their line of work, so no need to be ashamed of yours.

No matter what, stay away from your razor for AT LEAST a week. If the hairs are too small, the wax won't be able to grip onto the hair, and you'll be left with a patchy mess with no one to blame but your lack of self control.

You don't have to get everything waxed off. There are actually different types of styles of Brazilian waxes: you can go bare, leave a strip of hair, or leave a small triangle-shaped patch (it's much sexier than it sounds). Whatever you want to do with it, your waxer will work with you to make it happen!

The last thing you need to know is that it's going to hurt, but not as much as you'd expect. Some areas in your nether regions are more sensitive than others, so you may feel a burst of discomfort at one point or another during the process, but you'll live. If I'm still here to tell my Brazilian waxing tales, you will survive, too.
