If you are drinking coffee every morning, it’s a good idea to pay attention to what you’re putting into your morning drink. By itself, coffee is a weight loss friendly drink, and the caffeine can help boost your metabolism. However, certain coffee ingredients can lead to weight gain if you aren’t careful.

Coffee creamer might seem harmless, but it can add a lot of unhealthy nutrients to your diet.

 

According to Heatlhline, "Although the ingredients can vary by brand, most coffee creamers are made from a combination of water, sugar, and vegetable oil. Coffee creamer is usually heavily processed and loaded with added sugar."

The article continues, "Some popular types of coffee creamer can contain up to 5 grams of added sugar in a single serving. That’s more than 1 teaspoon of sugar. For reference, the American Heart Association recommends limiting your daily intake of added sugar to no more than 6 teaspoons (24 grams) for women and 9 teaspoons (36 grams) for men."

 

If you are trying to keep track of your weight loss, limiting these high calorie and high sugar ingredients is a good idea.

Plus, many coffee creamers have artificial flavors added.

 

If you are trying to eat cleaner and limit the processed ingredients in your diet, you should probably avoid these coffee creamers.

Instead, adding some healthier ingredients to your coffee is a good way to speed up weight loss.

 

For example, adding oat milk or nut milk and some cinnamon can be a healthier alternative to sweeten your coffee without adding too many calories or too much sugar.
