The former manager, Heather Holt, is suing SJP along with her business partner George Malkemus and their LLC, for allegedly failing to pay her overtime wages, according to the NY Post.
The papers filed in New York State Supreme Court state that SJP's side "stiffed Holt out of overtime pay from Dec. 31, 2018 to March 1, 2020," the paper reports.
“Plaintiff was not adequately compensated overtime wages at the overtime wage rate for all hours worked over forty in a workweek,” the suit claims, although a specific dollar amount that Holt is owed is not mentioned.
SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker Shoes has NYC locations on West 52nd Street and 93 South Street and worldwide locations Las Vegas, Maryland, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Canada.

Holt is seeking the back wages owed, plus interest, “liquidated damages and statutory penalties."
Holt’s lawyer, Lawrence Spasojevich commented on the case: "All New Yorkers deserve to be paid for the time that they worked. Violations of the Wage Theft Prevent Act are serious, and every employer who allegedly violates the law needs to be held accountable, even celebrities such as Ms. Parker." Yikes!
A rep for Parker told the Post, “We learned about the suit from your inquiry and are looking into the claims.”
