As one of Hollywood’s biggest actors, Brad Pitt is known for his charismatic characters on screen. However, the A-lister himself is a little bit more elusive. Most recently, however, fans got some insight into the person behind the characters.
Specifically, in an interview with GQ, makeup artist Jean Black, who has worked with Pitt for about 30 years, described the two of them as “both loners.”
Although it might be surprising that one of Hollywood's biggest actors is a "loner," Black explains how they have gotten along so well for so long: “We had kind of a sense we could enjoy being in the same room without having to talk all the time."
The friendship between Pitt and Black has come into the limelight with the first episode of HGTV's new show Celebrity I.O.U. In the episode, the Property Borthers--Jonathan and Drew Scott--help Pitt redesign Black's guest house as a thank you for years of friendship.
Pitt makes sure that Black gets what she always wanted in the space: a makeup station.
Explaining his thoughful gesture, Pitt says, "It's a constant exchange with great friends. She'll return the favor next week."
At this point, the pair has done almost 40 movies together. Black explained to GQ, "[H]is sense of loyalty is quite unusual. He’s had the same manager even longer than me."
