Amazon is considering adding live TV to its Prime Video offering, according to reports.
That’s right–internet sleuths over at Protocol have noticed several job listings that suggest the juggernaut is working to build out a live TV service. What is happening!

The open jobs gives clues to the fact that the company hopes to join YouTube, Hulu and Sony in offering broadcast channels for a monthly fee.
For example, the post says that Amazon is looking for candidates who can, “redefine how customers watch 24/7 linear broadcast TV content.” Interesting! That person will be tasked with, “designing the end-to-end customer experience for how customers discover and watch Linear TV content.” (Liner TV = live TV.)

Amazon is also “actively pursuing” licensing deals for live and linear programming, according to the site.
Interestingly, it's won't be Amazon’s first foray into live programming--don't forget that they've offered NFL Thursday Night Football games for years and just announced a plan to stream Premier League soccer on Twitch starting June 29th. But this new roll-out might be a little something for more than just sports fans.

We're not sure whether we'll be happy to shell out more money to the company that already has our Prime membership (and our "Whole Paycheck" thanks to the Whole Foods acquisition). Youtube and Hulu's services are around $50/month and have both raised their prices since launch. Come, Amazon, please be nice to us!
