A nutrient called choline, found in egg yolks, is a major nutrient that our bodies often lack but need. In an interview with Eat This, Not That!, registered dietitian Allison Knott explained that choline plays a part in many functions within the body including metabolism, nerve function, and brain development. How amazing is that?!

Even after we eat a protein-packed breakfast we may feel a bit peckish before lunchtime. A great healthy snack that benefits your metabolism is nut or seed butter, as registered dietitian Sylvia Melendez-Klinger recommends in an interview with Reader’s Digest.

Melendez-Klinger says that smart snacking throughout the day helps to prevent your metabolism rate from dropping. “For snacks, one can easily consume 400-plus calories, so reach for foods that are satisfying and full of nutrients with no more than 200 calories each,” Melendez-Klinger explains. 

Some great lunch and dinner protein choices include seafood and grilled chicken. As Healthline explains, protein-rich food like seafood and chicken, can help boost your metabolism, maintain muscle mass and prevent from overeating. That sounds like a weight loss dream to us!
