McDonald’s is known for being cheap, fast and delicious–which might bring you to the golden arches every once in awhile. 

But it’s not known for being low calorie or diet-friendly, so health-minded eaters must be wary when dining there.

If you're trying to eat healthier, you might wonder which menu items are definitely off limits. The answer is the Double Big Mac!

"This packs in 4 patties (this is not a typo!) and 720 calories," Lisa R Young, PhD, RDN tells us. "Anything “double” means twice the calories!" Indeed!

Young's fellow health experts agree. "Double Big Macs are high in fat and saturated fat and also packed with sodium," Jessica Randhawa, owner and head chef of Forked Spoon, tells us.

"Added salt is found in almost everything these days, as it is one of the five basic taste sensations," she warns.

"Countless peer-reviewed and peer-tested scientific articles have directly linked high salt intake with high blood pressure and hypertension. A high salt intake affects one's kidneys, heart, and overall life expectancy as it boosts the risks of having a stroke or heart attack." Yikes!
