Video of Meghan Markle speaking out against racism from 2012 has gone viral again amid the protests over the murder of George Floyd, an unarmed African American man who was killed by Minneapolis police.
In the clip, from a 2012 campaign called “I Won’t Stand For…” with the charity Erase the Hate, Meghan speaks about her own experience as a bi-racial woman, and how racial bias has played a factor in her life.

“I’m bi-racial. Most people can’t tell what I’m mixed with, and so much of my life has felt like being a fly on the wall,” Meghan shares candidly in the clip.
“And so some of the slurs I’ve heard or the really offensive jokes, or the names, it’s just hit me in a really strong way.”

An actress on USA's "Suits" at the time, Meghan is seen on the video wearing a t-shirt that says "I Won't Stand For Racism." Same, Meghan!
She continued by sharing a story about her mother, Doria Ragland. Trigger warning--this statement contains powerful language that might be upsetting to some.
"You know, a couple of years ago I heard someone call my mom the N-word," Meghan reveals in the clip. "So I think for me, beyond being personally affected by racism, just to see the landscape of what our country is like right now, certainly the world, and to want things to be better," she continued.
