Meghan Markle’s father is at it again; i.e., trashing his daughter in the press in order to get her to talk to him. (We don’t know how he thought that was a good idea, either!) Thomas Markle has slammed his 40-year-old daughter’s appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, which aired Thursday, November 18th, saying it involved “stupid stunts” and insisted that her actions “embarrassed everyone in the UK.”

Talking to The Sunday Mirror about the Duchess of Sussex’s appearance on the show – in particular the pranks she played on some vendors on the Warner Bros. lot when she received commands from the 63-year-old comedian via a hidden earpiece – the 77-year-old former lighting director said: “It’s no way to behave. The whole thing was kind of embarrassing. It was certainly embarrassing for the Royal Family.”

“It’s embarrassing for her as well. I suspect it embarrassed everyone in the UK, too,” he continued. “She’s putting herself out there as a duchess but I’ve never seen a duchess behave this way, doing stupid stunts.”

Some of the pranks Meghan pulled on the unsuspecting vendors, under Ellen’s instructions, included shoving a whole chip into her mouth and devouring it “like a chipmunk,” holding a crystal to her head and chanting while telling the vendor, “I have healing powers. Can you feel my powers?” and even pulling out a baby bottle from her purse and sucking on it. At one point, while tasting some hot sauce, Meghan was also told to say, “Let mommy taste some. My boo (Harry) loves hot sauce,” before being told to jump up and down excitedly in anticipation for the hot sauce.

Meghan's father isn’t the only one to criticize her actions on Ellen's show. Piers Morgan also couldn’t help but comment on her appearance, and as you can imagine, he was less than complimentary – and that's putting it kindly! "Last night’s Ellen debacle exposed Meghan Markle’s desire to be a jobbing C-list reality TV celebrity, not a jobbing A-list royal," the 56-year-old British journalist and broadcaster wrote in his MailOnline column.

"But even a Kardashian would have deemed that street vendor stunt beneath them and brand-damaging. That’s how puerile and embarrassing it was," he continued, before adding that it made a mockery of the British Monarchy. He concluded: "For a British royal to demean herself in such a way is completely unacceptable. Not just because it made Meghan Markle look ridiculous, but because it made the British Monarchy look ridiculous."
