Meghan Markle’s father has once again slammed his daughter in the press, and this time he has gone after her parenting! In a new interview with Dan Wooton, which was broadcast on GB News on Monday, April 26th, Thomas Markle said that it “really bothers” him that Meghan left two-year-old son Archie and ten-month-old daughter Lilibet in America to fly to the Netherlands (via the UK for a secret visit to The Queen) for the Invictus Games a few weeks ago.
The 77-year-old former lighting director made the comment after being asked about his thoughts on the uncertainty surrounding whether Meghan and Prince Harry will head to the UK again for Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June, also referencing how their latest trip would have been a great opportunity for Lilibet to meet The Queen, which she has yet to do. (He has yet to meet either of his grandchildren, as he has reportedly not seen his daughter since before the royal wedding back in May 2018.)
‘Not bringing the children was another slap in the face to the Queen. It was very rude.’

“Not bringing the children was like another slap in the face to The Queen; it was very rude and the wrong thing to do, and it makes no sense at all,” Markle began. “I don’t know if it’s Meghan or if it’s Harry but The Queen should have every right to see her great-grandchildren and I should have the right to see my grandchildren.”
He continued: “To fly all the way over and not bring the children. That’s ridiculous. Most mothers don’t leave a 9-month-old child behind. They usually hold on to that child until the child gets a little older. That’s one thing that really bothers me.”
Markle also spoke about how he wanted to come to the UK for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations, saying he had huge respect for the royal family. He also mentioned wanting to meet Prince Charles face to face to thank him for walking his daughter down the aisle. "I'm going to show my respects for The Queen and I'm going to make sure The Queen understands that my entire family respects The Queen and the royals and we admire them. We want them to know that's how we feel about them and that's how we feel about England."
He also added: "I really would like to meet with Prince Charles and thank him for walking my daughter down the aisle and also just to meet and talk with him because I think we have a lot in common now. We've pretty much both been ghosted by our children. So yeah, I would really enjoy talking to him. If that's possible, that would be great."
Meghan's father then went on to speculate that Prince Harry and his daughter may be even less tempted to leave their home in Montecito, California and attend The Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations if they knew that he was going to be nearby, but said that he would "certainly like to try" and make amends where possible and repair their broken relationship.
"I'm getting the feeling that if they know I'm coming they won't be coming," he said. "But if they do come I would love to reach out and speak with them and try to figure out what went wrong and how we can repair it. I don't see that happening but I certainly would like to try."
