It might be 2021 but when it comes to celeb style, you might think we’re back in the early 2000s. From Y2K crop tops to belly chains, the millennium is making a comeback in a big way with trends we never expected to see again. And the most jaw-dropping one has to be the thong pants trend.
But when we saw Jennifer Lopez out and about in thong pants, we were ready to try them ourselves.
JLo was spotted in this jaw-dropping fit in Miami. The 52-year-old beauty was filming a music video with DJ Khaled, and stepped out of her trailer wearing—you guessed it: the thong pants trend. JLo looked stunning in a white crop top paired with VERY low-rise grey trousers, and, of course, a matching grey thong poking out.
The multi-hyphenate star layered her look with chunky gold and silver chain necklaces and bracelets. We’re kind of obsessed with JLo’s iteratation of the thong pants trend—the loose trousers almost give the look a baddie businesswoman vibe, with the unexpected touch of her visible matching thong. Jennifer Lopez definitely hasn’t been shying away from wearing daring looks lately—when we saw her in a hot pink skintight catsuit, we were both confused and enamored. This thong pants look is just one of her OMG-worthy ensembles.
But JLo isn’t alone in loving the g-string. Celebs like Dua Lipa and Addison Rae started bringing back the thong in a big way earlier this summer, and stars like Rihanna rocked the thong pants trend at the Met Gala after party.
Other celebs loving the trend included Zoe Kravitz, who wore a chainmail Yves Saint Laurent dress that showed EVERYTHING –including the extremely cheeky underwear she was wearing underneath.
