‘Today’ Fans Are Losing It Over Savannah Guthrie’s Huge Book News On Instagram: ‘I Love This So Much’

Savannah Guthrie revealed her forthcoming new children’s book, Mostly What God Does is Love You, this week, and her fans are thrilled by the announcement.
The buzzing project from the Today co-host, 52, is scheduled to come out on February 25, 2025. It is said to “remind children (and adults) of God’s great love for them, how very cherished they are by the creator of the universe, and how in turn, they can share that same love by being kind and compassionate to others.”
On December 2nd, Guthrie shared a clip of herself on-air discussing her “picture book for the little ones” in an Instagram post for her 1.1 million followers. Fans couldn’t get enough and headed to the comments section to congratulate the author.
“I love this so much,” one wrote as another added: “I love this and it sends such a beautiful message.” One other concurred, noting: “that’s the kind of joy we want to spread in the world.” An additional user chimed in, writing: “Can’t wait!” as someone else replied: “this is great!”
Guthrie’s latest publication comes after her 2024 collection of essays, Mostly What God Does. According to the book’s summary, Mostly What God Does is Love You, with artwork by Morgan Huff, “showcases the wonders of nature, the beauty of God’s creation and most importantly, how very loved you are by God.” It can be used to uplift readers of all ages.”
The mom of two (who shares Vale, 10, and Charley, 8, with her husband Michael Feldman) gave fans a sneak peek of the book’s artwork on Today. She mentioned that those who buy the book as a present from its website will get a free downloadable poster and gift tag.
“It’s just a sweet goodnight story, but hopefully a message that anyone could use,” Guthrie shared. The broadcaster also told Today that she pushed herself to step out of her familiar surroundings and “do something thrilling and scary” when she penned her new book on faith, Mostly What God Does: Reflections on Seeking and Finding His Love Everywhere.
The journey was intimidating for Guthrie, who identifies as Christian, because she considers herself a “regular person” rather than a theologian or religious expert.
Nonetheless, she explained that it was exhilarating because her faith is a fundamental aspect of her identity. “It’s what makes me tick. It’s what makes me joyful. It’s what helps me navigate the world and stresses and disappointments and fears,” she added.
In the book’s forward, Guthrie writes: “You may be faith-full, you may be faith-curious, you may be faith-less, still scarred by a toxic religiosity of your past.” No matter what, she encourages readers to “come as you are.”
