Tom Brady, 46, may not have given much away on a previous episode of his Sirius XM ‘Let’s Go’ podcast when he was asked if he was coming out of retirement to join the New York Jets – but he really opened up on a more recent episode when he and co-hosts Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray were discussing his weight loss.
Tom Brady Opens Up About 10 Lb. Weight Loss
The seven-time Super Bowl champ has been looking a little (okay, a lot!) different these days, with fans noticing a huge change in his appearance. But it isn’t just his face that's looking different, as the retired quarterback is also looking noticeably trimmer, which he openly addressed on the podcast.
The former Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback confessed that he had actually lost 10 lbs since his retirement, and attributed it to a shift in priorities. "I’m down about 10 lbs, but I’m actually very fit right now," Brady confessed, after Fitzgerald, 40, said he was looking "lighter now."
The father-of-three mentioned that he had prioritized his mental and physical health since retiring from the NFL earlier this year, saying: "I haven’t had the stress that I had while I was playing so that’s allowed me to focus a little bit more on my physical health. But I think it's important for everyone. Physical and mental health is so important to all of us. Without that, what do we really have?"
He added: "You could prioritize a lot of other things – career, kids, relationships, family, greater good, community. But at the end of the day, physical and mental health should sit at the top of the pyramid."
