Tom Holland and Zendaya have one of the most enviable relationships in Hollywood right now – but according to the 25-year-old Spider-Man: No Way Home actor, there is one thing he doesn’t like about it. I.e., how the media wouldn’t give them both the privacy to reveal their romance in their own way and in their own time. We’re so heartbroken after reading what he had to say in a very candid interview with GQ for its ‘Men of the Year’ issue, for which he appears on the cover.
“One of the downsides of our fame is that privacy isn’t really in our control anymore, and a moment that you think is between two people that love each other very much is now a moment that is shared with the entire world,” Holland told GQ. And ever the dutiful and supportive girlfriend, the 25-year-old Dune actress shared the cover of her beau to her Instagram Story with a heart eyes emoji; so even though they didn’t reveal their romance in the way they wanted, it doesn’t look like they are trying to hide it, either!
"I've always been really adamant to keep my private life private, because I share so much of my life with the world anyway," Holland continued. "We sort of felt robbed of our privacy. I don't think it's about not being ready. It's just that we didn't want to."
Zendaya echoed this, telling the pub: "The equal sentiment we both share is just that when you really love and care about somebody, some moments or things, you wish were your own. I think loving someone is a sacred thing and a special thing and something that you want to deal with and go through and experience and enjoy amongst the two people that love each other."
The secret was more or less out after Tom and Zendaya were photographed kissing in a car earlier this year, although they have been romantically linked from as far back as 2017 when they were filming Spider-Man together. Despite saying that he wanted to keep their relationship private, Holland couldn’t help but gush about his girlfriend and current CFDA Fashion Icon, telling the mag that the Euphoria actress is a "role model" to young guys and girls, and has also been "instrumental" in his life over the past few years. We're not crying, you're crying!
"Having her in my life was so instrumental to my sanity," the Uncharted actor said. "She is so good at being the role model for young guys and girls. When anyone comes up, like, 'Can I have a picture?' It's never a bad time. Whereas my initial reaction was: 'Why are you talking to me? Leave me alone.'" And although the pair aren’t going public with the details of their relationship and over-sharing a' la Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker, that doesn’t mean that that will never happen – we just have to wait for them both to find the right time, which we totally respect. "This isn't my story. It's our story. And we'll talk about what it is when we're ready to talk about it together," Holland confirmed.
