Trader Joe’s Soup Dumplings Are Being Pulled From Shelves After Customers Find ‘Hard Plastic Material’ From ‘Permanent Markers’ In Their Food

Trader Joe’s Steamed Chicken Soup Dumplings have been pulled from shelves nationwide after customers found hard plastic in their dumplings. The U.S. Department of Agriculture reported the recall, which was issued voluntarily by CJ Goods Manufacturing Beaumont Corporation, which manufactures the product, on Mar. 2nd, 2024. According to the USDA, the products that have the potential to be contaminated by “hard plastic specifically from a permanent marker pen” sold in states across the United States have the following information on the box:

6-oz. boxes with plastic trays containing six pieces of Trader Joe’s Steamed Chicken Soup Dumplings with lot codes 03.07.25.C1-1 and 03.07.25.C1-2 printed on the side of the box.

The US Food Safety and Inspection Service warns customers to check their freezers to make sure they do not have one of the potentially contaminated products. Though there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions or injury due to consumption of these products, it is better to be safe than sorry.
