Travis Kelce appeared on the Bussin’ with the Boys podcast last week, and his comments are taking the internet by storm, leaving fans in awe as the NFL star, 34, candidly shared what drew him to his girlfriend Taylor Swift, and expressed his desire to be open about their relationship.

Many observant fans on X (formerly known as Twitter) have been quick to note the contrast with Swift’s previous six-year-romance with Joe Alwyn, who reportedly found it challenging to cope with her immense fame and preferred to keep their relationship more private.

In stark contrast, Kelce, who has been romantically linked with the “Down Bad” singer, 34, since September 2023, appears to embrace a more public approach to their love story.

Travis Kelce Opens Up About Being 'Proud' Of His Relationship With Taylor Swift After Her Ex Joe Alwyn Reportedly Wanted A More 'Private' Romance With Her

During the podcast episode, one of the hosts said to Kelce regarding his bond with Swift: "You guys have done a decent job of keeping it private." The Kansas City Chiefs tight end then replied: "Yeah, and it's like... you want to keep things private but at the same time I'm not here to hide anything." Regarding his high-profile relationship with the Grammy winner, he continued: "That's my girl, you know what I mean? That's my lady, so... I'm proud of that."

Kelce added: "I'm not sitting here trying to juggle, like, 'How can I keep this under wraps?' You just don't want to let everybody into your personal life and be able to comment on it knowing that everything she does is getting a headline."

For six years, Swift and Kinds of Kindness actor Alwyn, 33, nurtured a deeply private relationship, seldom making public appearances together or discussing their romance. In April 2023, a source reportedly dished to People Magazine that the musician and Conversations with Friends star broke up over "personality differences."

The insider noted: "Joe has struggled with Taylor’s level of fame and the attention from the public." They went on: "The differences in their personalities have also become harder to ignore after years together. They’ve grown apart."

Later on during Kelce's aforementioned podcast episode, the hosts remarked on Swift's attendance at the 2024 Super Bowl, a game where Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs triumphed spectacularly. They observed how Swift, ever the supportive presence, gracefully remained in the background, allowing Kelce to bask in his moment of glory.

"She's very self-aware, she understands situations like that, and I think that's why I really started to really fall for her, was how genuine she is around friends, family," Kelce gushed. The football player went on: "It can get crazy for somebody with that much attention, and she just keeps it so chill."

Kelce also unveiled how Swift's generous and effortless demeanor captivated his heart. "The first game she came to against the Bears, I was like, 'Hey, yeah, I could probably set you up with everything,' and she just walked right through the front door," he recalled.

He added: "There's no... talking to security, she was just like, 'I just want to be around the family and friends, and experience this with everybody.' I was just like, 'She got beaucoup points for that... She's in the madness, man, she wants to be a part of it.'"

Swift's beau (who she recently showed off on Instagram for the first time) then concluded: "She wants to support me and do things like that. She really won me over with that one."
