As we age, thinning eyebrows can become a common concern due to factors like hormonal changes, over-plucking, or simply the natural aging process. However, fuller, natural-looking brows are achievable at any age with the right techniques.

Laura (laurawiththegoodbrows) is the founder of Relume Cosmetics & Laura Brows Studios YYC and has over 115K followers on TikTok. She recently shared an in-depth tutorial showing how older women who have thin brows can fill them in to look more natural and full. Read on to get all her tips and “tricks.”

‘Fuller and Natural-Looking Brows’ Over 50

Laura chose her mom to be the model of the video, as she is 70-years-old with very skinny brows.

The product that Laura uses to make hair-like strokes is the brown-black full-on pencil from Relume Cosmetics. She makes these strokes at the center where “she truly has no hair.”

Afterwards, Laura outlines the top and bottom of the brows. She says this is an important step because “when you focus on outlining, you’re able to look at a fuller brow and the entirety of the brow, not just the center skinny part where you have the hair,” noting that this step is essential to what makes the brows more full “while still keeping its natural shape.”

Then she fills in any areas that may need some more color.

The next product she uses is the brown-blonde brow pomade from her cosmetic line to fluff the hairs up and add a tint to them. This step “makes them more visible and fluffier and a fuller-looking brow as well.”

Next, she takes the bright eyes pencil in medium and blends that out underneath the brow. This will help make the eye area pop and “makes the arch higher and smooths out everything.” This step is even more crucial if you want to avoid that tired-looking face.

Practice Makes Perfect

Laura then says to do the exact same thing to the other brow. She points out that it's totally okay if the hair-like strokes are not perfect, as she encourages them to look more natural instead. “You’re not going to make it perfect the first couple of times, and I’m still not making it perfect, and it’s easy to correct,” she concludes.
