It seems as if a day doesn’t go by without Donald Trump being slammed on X, formerly Twitter, for something or another. Today is no different, as Twitter users respond to a Republican-proposed bill calling to change the name of Dulles Airport to Donald J. Trump International Airport. Keep reading for all the details.
News broke this week that 7 House Republicans have filed a bill to rename Dulles International Airport to Donald J. Trump International Airport. Located in the nation’s capital, Washington, DC, and named after former US Secretary of State John Foster Dulles, the airport has been a heavily traveled airport since 1962. The other airport in the area is also named after a popular political figure: former president Ronald Reagan.
On Friday, Mar. 29th, seven house Republicans filed the bill. The sponsors of the bill include Guy Reschenthaler, Michael Waltz, Andy Ogles, Chuck Fleischmann, Paul Gosar, Barry Moore and Troy Nehles.
Reschenthaler said of his idea, “In my lifetime, our nation has never been greater than under the leadership of Donald J. Trump. As millions of domestic and international travelers fly through the airport, there is no better symbol of freedom, prosperity, and strength than hearing, ‘Welcome to Trump International Airport’ as they land on American soil.”
