Clips and teasers from Meghan Markle’s upcoming Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, are facing backlash on social media. The show was originally set to drop on January 15th but got pushed to March 4th following the devastating wildfires that tore through parts of Los Angeles.

While the delay seemed understandable given the show’s tribute to the beauty of Southern California (featuring scenes of the Duchess of Sussex, 43, cooking and creating floral arrangements with celeb pals like Mindy Kaling and Suits c0-star Abigail Spencer), a royal commentator now claims the new release date is just as controversial. Meanwhile, social media isn’t holding back, with X (formerly Twitter) users slamming the latest behind-the-scenes clips as “contrived,” “embarrassing,” and straight-up “cringe.”

Social Media Users Are Dragging Meghan Markle’s ‘Embarrassing’ New Teaser And Behind-The-Scenes Clips For Netflix Series With Love, Meghan

Royal analyst Richard Fitzgerald informed GB News that he believes that Markle has acted too hastily. “I think it’s rather soon,” he shared. The commentator added, “I do feel that her offering a celebrity friend a piece of sponge might be out of its time.” He went on, “There has been tragedies in California and it’s got caught up in it all […] I do suppose it might be past it’s sell by date.”

On February 26th, the mother of two (who shares son Prince Archie, 5, and daughter Princess Lilibet, 3, took to Instagram to share some behindthescenes moments from the show. The clips featured the Suits actress dancing in her kitchen, laughing with the crew, and offered a quick look at her husband Harry, 40, and her late dog, Guy.

Markle captioned the upload for her 2.1 million followers: "Six more days until our show launches on @netflix! Celebrating the crew and everyone who helped make this happen! The countdown begins."

Some royal enthusiasts on X and other realms of social media have labeled the video as "cringe," with a few suggesting it was a deliberate attempt to undermine Prince William and Kate Middleton's trip to Wales.

After watching, one user wrote, "The cringe factor just blew through the roof - my eyes rolled out of my head AGAIN, and #MeghanMarkle trying to look like she’s 'fun' and 'quirky' and sooo relatable FLOPPED. Try contrived, forced, and embarrassing."

Another added, "She is just awful… Maybe she should try another profession but influencer and chef is not her forte. Off the charts cringe."

Someone else harshly responded, commenting "There is nothing I hate more than a phony, which is why I simply destest Meghan Markle." An additional X user wrote, "Meghan Markle is a fraud Boycott this show."

Even still, some users expressed their excitement for Markle's new project, with one tweeting, "Wow what a great series for the new year."

Another added, "What a thrill to have Her Royal Highness the Duchess back on our screens. It will be a fantastic year." Someone else compared Markle's lifestyle series clips to something Martha Stewart might approve of.

One other said they "need" a new gardening and cooking show like Markle's. Fans can tune into the show, filmed at Markle's California estate, streaming on Netflix next week.
