Hailey’s beau Justin Bieber and “Momager” Kris Jenner were also present for the Beverly Hills nuptials, which saw Kim Kardashian’s former assistant Shepherd marry former Apple Music Global Creative Director Jackson. Hailey has received criticism on social media since images of the celebration were public, since according to many, she committed a “tasteless” wedding fashion faux pas: she wore white to someone else’s wedding.

It seems that Kim’s former assistant amassed quite a few famous friends during her time as the Kardashian superstar’s aide and eventual COO of the KKW beauty brand—the A-list guest list included the aforementioned Kris, Hailey, and Justin, as well as Malika and Khadijah Haqq, legendary music producer Clive Davis, and Kim Kardashian herself, who also turned heads in a very revealing cutout-covered black Alaïa dress.
Kim and Stephanie have a long history, with the latter working as Kim’s personal assistant and eventually becoming the COO of KKW before leaving for other opportunities. Some have speculated that the two were feuding after Stephanie’s break with KKW, but it seems that everyone was all smiles at the big day.

Even despite the criticism Kim received on social media from those who felt her ‘fit was too racy to wear to a friend’s wedding—”If someone came to my wedding dressed that way I would either tell them to please change, cover up, or leave,” said one Twitter user—nothing compared to the backlash Hailey Bieber received for her equally-revealing but white skintight gown.

Many on social media pointed out that, in wearing the backless white dress to the wedding, Hailey Bieber was violating a sacrosanct rule of wedding fashion: never wear white as a guest, in deference to the bride.

Even on Hailey's post of the dress to Instagram, commenters were admonishing the Rhode entrepreneur for the perceived fashion mistake. "You really wore white to a wedding??" asked one shocked follower. "Babygirl, you don’t wear white to a wedding EVER!!" said another. A commenter even accused Hailey of not being able to "stand not having the attention on her.

The situation was reminiscent of backlash Kendall Jenner received in the fall of 2021, when the model wore and even more revealing black cutout dress than Kim's recent number to a friend's wedding. Social media exploded after pictures from the event began to make the rounds, calling the wedding fashion choice "cringe" and accusing Kendall of being "blatantly disrespectful to the bride."
