There are plenty off apps that you probably expect to be battery drainers. At the top of that list you’ll find social media apps like Facebook and Snapchat. And, while these applications are to blame for slowing your phone down, there are other consuming apps that will take you by surprise.
Your first step should always be to find out which apps are running in the background. Go to Settings > General > Background App Refresh. Then visit Settings > Battery and check battery usage. From here you’ll get a clearer picture of the apps that are truly slowing down your smartphone. And don’t be surprised if you see this one on the list.
Fitness Tracking
Newer iPhone models come with a Fitness Tracking feature that counts your steps and stays on top of your movements. While this can be helpful, it can also be an unnecessary drain if you aren’t using the feature.
To stop Fitness Tracking from consuming your battery, go to Settings > Privacy > Motion & Fitness and tap Fitness Tracking to toggle it off.
A few key ways to ensure your battery doesn’t die so fast also include keeping screen brightness levels down and giving your phone periodic charges throughout the day instead of waiting until your device falls below 20 percent.
