There are a number of pre-installed apps on your iPhone that you may barely think about. In fact, you may actually assume they all have to be there because, if they weren’t useful, why would Apple include them in the first place?
Don’t fall into the trap of thinking everything Apple did is for your benefit — this isn’t the case when it comes to pre-installed apps. Instead of allowing so many apps you never use to sit there and take up storage space and battery power, you can delete them and get on with your life.
Wondering which app to put on the chopping block first? Many tech experts agree: this pre-installed app is pretty useless.
Tips
Unless this is your first time at the iPhone rodeo, you may find that the Tips app is pretty useless. If you are completely unfamiliar with an iPhone and all that it can do for you, Tips is great. It can teach you how to use Siri and how to make the most out of your camera to take great photos and video. But if you’ve had an iPhone before, you likely won’t find it useful. You can get rid of this app by holding it down and deleting it. This won’t get rid of it forever and you can always download it again via the app store.
Apple Maps
This one is described as hit or miss. Apple Maps comes pre-installed on your phone, which is very convenient. But if you’re a big fan of another navigation app like Google Maps or Waze, having more than one navigation app downloaded on your device can take up a lot of storage space and battery power. You can always delete Apple Maps if this is the case and use your preferred map app instead.
Remember: you don’t have to feel tied down to the pre-installed apps that Apple downloads onto your phone for you. Feel free to delete the ones that really do not serve you.
