Valerie Bertinelli and Mike Goodnough’s relationship was short-lived, but that doesn’t mean the breakup doesn’t cut deep. The pair broke up in early November after just 10 months of dating, and Valerie has been pretty open on social media about how she’s handling it—recently posting a video to her Instagram feed telling her fans that she’s been experiencing panic panic attacks. Valerie Bertinelli & Mike Goodnough Break Up
Valerie first spoke publicly about their relationship back in April, explaining that her boyfriend, Mike Goodnough, "felt like a kindred spirit" and that they "both had strong feelings" for one another. However, the couple had to do long distance for the duration of their relationship with Bertinelli in Los Angeles and Goodnough on the East Coast, and while they had a rule in place—"never go longer than" three weeks "without seeing each other"—it seems like it became too much.
According to a source close to the couple, "They are no longer in a relationship." It seems as though this might not have been a shock, as the actress told People in July that keeping up their three-week rule had "bene challenging."
Valerie Gives A Mental Health Update
Unfortunately, Valerie has been taking the break up pretty hard, as she explained in a video to her Instagram feed that she's been experiencing panic attacks. "I've sat on this post for a day because it's incredibly vulnerable," she said, captioning a video of her hand shaking. "but I'm posting because we're all out here doing our best having a human experience and none of us want to feel like we're alone in that."
She then went on to explain that she hadn't had an anxiety attack like the one she was experiencing in a "very, very long time" and that she found herself "weeping uncontrollably" and "couldn't stop shaking." She also noted that her "heart felt like it was pounding out" of her chest. She finished the video by assuring her fans, "I'm doing my best. The after-effects of an anxiety attack f***ing suck."
