Vanessa Lachey is facing a lot of criticism following the Love is Blind Season 4 reunion special which aired on Monday, April 17th, with many viewers even calling for her to be fired for seemingly acting intoxicated, asking what were deemed “rude” and “nauseating” questions about the couples’ plans to have children, and apparent favoritism towards Jackelina Bonds in a love triangle with Marshall Glaze and Josh Demas. Cast member Paul Peden also revealed that he thought Vanessa unfairly targeted him when she displayed “personal bias” against him in his relationship with Micah Lussier.
Although the 41-year-old mom-of-three, who has been married to Nick Lachey since 2011, faced criticism for a lot of her comments, it was what she said about there still not being a Love is Blind baby after four seasons that angered some viewers the most!
Vanessa Lachey Criticized For Baby Questions
"Auntie Vanessa is still hoping for that Love is Blind baby," Vanessa said during the special, which did not go down well on Twitter! "Did anyone else find it wildly inappropriate how hard Vanessa Lachey was pushing the baby thing? Talk about insensitive and invasive," one fan wrote on Twitter, while another said, "As someone who struggled with infertility for so long and shed so many tears #loveisblind baby inquisition is so insensitive and really uncomfortable."
"Quit asking when/pressuring people to have kids. Some people physically cannot and some people don’t want them. It’s rude and assuming. Do better. It was extra cringe," another fan tweeted. "The reunion is always nauseating to watch because of Vanessa Lachey," said another. "She picks sides, cuts people off, bullies the male cast, pushes motherhood onto women, and generally tries way too hard to be cool. Netflix please just let Nick do this solo."
Did anyone else find it wildly inappropriate how hard Vanessa Lachey was pushing the baby thing? Talk about insensitive and invasive. I’m so sick of this narrative that a baby equates to a successful relationship #LOVEISBLINDreunion #LoveIsBlind

Fans also called her out for the way she spoke to Paul Peden, as she kept talking about his post-wedding confessional where he said that he couldn’t see ex Micah Lussier as a mother, which he said he definitely felt was biased.
"I think Vanessa might have had a little bit of personal bias in that scenario or at least I kind of detected that," Paul said to a reporter afterwards, according to Ok! "But that’s just my assumption based on how she continued to drill into it after I gave my full rationale for why I felt the way that I did." For what it's worth, Vanessa did actually end up sending Paul flowers as an apology!

More Social Media Backlash
Commenting on an April 19th post about Venessa's behavior on the official Ok! Instagram account, one fan asked, "Was she drunk?" which was something a lot of people on social media also thought contributed to her behavior. "She seemed to be intoxicated," one viewer commented, which someone else agreed with, adding, "I said the exact same thing!" "Was the whole cast drinking at the tell all or just the host?" asked another fan. "She seemed drunk! She looked messy and she was not asking Micha why she was so horrible but instead was grilling Paul! It was annoying!" exclaimed another viewer.
It wasn’t just the drinking or not drinking that fans commented on, with someone else simply stating, "She really was a bit much on the show." "She definitely needs to go," another unimpressed viewer added, while someone else said, "She was unbearable." Another viewer asked the show to "drop her immediately," adding that they think she is a "terrible host," while someone else said, "I do not watch whatever show she and her hubs host, but I have never heard anything good about her. Even interviews I’ve seen them do, she comes off very unlikeable."
Some Positive Fan Comments
It wasn’t all bad news though, as some fans actually thought she asked great questions and kept it real, seemingly suggesting that those who were calling for her to be fired were perhaps taking things a little too far or were too sensitive about what was said. "I thought she was great," one fan commented, with another saying, "She isn’t going to be fired people need to stop being too soft on what is asked and what isn’t asked." "Vanessa did well," praised another fan. "Don't understand what the issue is. She was not rude. She asked good questions. People are never satisfied," they added.
Another fan thought there was nothing wrong with Vanessa's comments about the Love is Blind contestants having children, writing: "Asking about having babies is now rude and nauseating!? Get a grip people and stop making a big deal out of every little thing someone says or does!" "She was fine," thought another viewer, while someone else also defended her, saying, "She keeps it real and calls out the bullies!" "Wow come on. She did fine," someone else said, which someone else agreed with, adding, "I saw nothing wrong with anything she asked or said." "She called it as is," stated another.

Vanessa Asks Fans To Acknowledge The 'Intense Vulnerability' That Goes Into The Show
Although Vanessa didn't address her comments on the reunion special or the social media backlash she had received directly, she did write a short message on Instagram about people being cyber-bullied, and asked her fans to treat others with respect.
"I want to take a moment, on this platform, to acknowledge the intense vulnerability that goes into our show (each season). I’m so proud of this cast and their willingness to put themselves out there," she captioned a post of the cast members of the show. "Please keep in mind online (and in life) that 'words have weight.' What you say to someone you don’t know (and don’t know the whole story to) can have a lasting effect on them… in many different ways," she continued. "Mental health should always be treated with respect." She also tagged the Instagram account for Wondermind, which is an ecosystem to destigmatize mental health for all.
