If you’re trying to lose weight, the first thing you’ll probably do is incorporate more vegetables into your diet. Vegetables are excellent for weight loss because they’re filled with the vital nutrients and minerals that are essential for speeding up our metabolism. Iceberg Lettuce

While this may be a go-to staple for all your salads, it’s actually an unhealthy choice if you’re trying to lose weight. Renowned trainer Jillian Michaels says that iceberg lettuce doesn’t do much for your body. “It's made up of 95 percent water and contains only small amounts of fiber and minerals,” she says. “So, while iceberg lettuce is low in calories and definitely not bad for you, it's not that good either.”

Onions

They may be great for aroma and adding flavor to your meals, but onions are slacking in the nutrient department. They’re not the worst things you could have, but there are definitely healthier options if you’re trying to lose weight.

Radishes

Radishes are on the low side when it comes to healthy nutrients. Skip these veggies if you’re trying to lose weight.

Cucumbers

Cucumbers are popular veggies that don’t really carry as many nutrients as most vegetables. But, they’re still high in vitamin K and make great additions to salads.  

Eggplant

Eggplant makes a great substitution if you’re trying to cut back on meat and carbs, but the don’t really have the nutritional value to help you lose weight.
