This year’s VMAs were bursting with seasoned A-listers, as music powers like Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, and Camila Cabello made unforgettable entrances.
Meanwhile, rising stars like Sabrina Carpenter, Tyla, and Chappell Roan gave us a glimpse of the next generation of music icons!
The red carpet was filled with stunning outfits, but one trend stood out: waist-cinching corsets! We’ve picked our top three dresses that showcased how to rock this timeless trend, each offering its own unique spin on the classic corset look.
1. Taylor Swift
The Eras icon was undoubtedly the most anticipated celebrity of the night, making a memorable impression both on stage and on the red carpet.
On Wednesday night, "The Tortured Poets Department" singer dazzled in an edgy punk plaid yellow ensemble from Dior.
The outfit featured a high-low skirt, a tight corset bodice, black shorts, and a coordinating yellow and black choker. She completed the look with over-the-knee leather boots and criss-cross leather gloves.
The Grammy winner also made headlines by taking home seven awards, the most of any artist, bringing her total VMAs count to 30 and ultimately tying Beyoncé’s record. What a night for Swifties!
2. Megan Thee Stallion
The host of this year's award show also made a striking entrance! Megan Thee Stallion gave the classic black gown a contemporary spin as she graced the carpet.
The rapper and "Hot Girl Summer" hitmaker turned heads in a curve-hugging corset bodysuit, sheer tights, and an intriguing inverted skirt that was cinched at her knees. We're not sure how she managed to walk in that, but only Megan could pull it off!
She kept the rest of her look simple with a short, blunt bob with bangs and statement jewelry pieces.
3. Anitta
Brazilian singer Anitta also joined the corset trend with a punk bridal twist!
The 31-year-old, who recently performed with The Weeknd in São Paulo ahead of his new album, rocked a white corset-style minidress adorned with strings woven over sheer panels. A long fabric draped from the center of her dress, complementing her hooded cape.
She completed the look with thigh-high stockings, silver high-heeled sandals, and grunge burgundy makeup with bleached brows.
