Walgreens’ loyalty programs are getting a major update–and we’re not sure what to think!
The company announced that its existing loyalty programs–Balance Rewards, Beauty Enthusiast, and Walgreens Plus–are all being phased out, but will be replaced by a new loyalty program called myWalgreens.
Keep reading for everything we know!
According to the company's website, myWalgreens is a "one-of-a-kind personalized experience that makes saving, shopping and your well-being easier."
However, the actual details about this new loyalty program--and instructions on how to sign up--have not been released yet, leading to a fair bit of confusion from Walgreens customers.
Specifically, for those customers with Balance Rewards memberships, figuring out where their points will go is a concern.
According to Walgreens' website, "Your Balance® Rewards membership does not automatically transfer and you'll need to sign up for myWalgreens, but it's free and easy! Plus, you can keep your benefits and earn more rewards."
However, there is a caveat: you need to sign up for myWalgreens by January 31, 2021 to keep your rewards points.
The website explains, "If you don't enroll in myWalgreens by January 31, 2021 then your Balance® Rewards account will be deactivated and you'll lose your existing points balance."
With that in mind, customers definitely want to sign up for myWalgreens sooner rather than later. The issue is that you cannot sign up yet. Although the company promises that more information will be coming soon, for right now, customers can only wait to hear more about how they can sign up and transfer their rewards points.
