Walmart’s plans to roll out “health centers” at its stores is going much slower than anticipated!

The company has even had to pause it’s efforts to offer health services such as x-rays, dental exams and otherwise amid the novel coronavirus vaccine roll-out.

The Arkansas-based chain had previously announced in September 2019 that it would create these centers, with separate entrances for patients, to their stores across the country.

But Eat This, Not That reports that operations efforts are now slowing.

The idea of a one-stop-shop for x-rays, counseling, $40 primary care visits, $4 generic drugs, dental exams, that would service 90% of Americans including the uninsured sounded too good to be true, it turns out that it may be.

While they initially set out to open 4,000 clinics by 2029 (to rival pharmacies like CVS and Walgreens), Walmart employees are now speaking out to say that these plans have stalled.

Citing a re-focus on doling out the life-saving Covid-19 vaccine, Eat This explains that Walmart' stand-alone clinics have been put on the back burner. Too bad if it's true!
