Walmart Just Made A Huge Announcement About Streaming—Amazon Is Going To Be So Mad!

Walmart+ may be giving Amazon Prime a run for its money with their latest membership perk. The corporation announced on Monday that they’ve added a streaming service to the mix: Walmart+ memberships will now include Paramount+ at no additional cost.

That’s right: members of Walmart+, who pay $12.95 per month (or $98 per year) for their membership, will now be able to stream movies and TV shows with a Paramount+ Essential subscription, which is valued at $4.99 a month or $49.99 per year. That’s not a bad deal! In fact, it may just be good enough to convince consumers to make the switch from Amazon to Walmart.

Similar to the popular free delivery perks Amazon Prime (priced at $139 a year) offers in addition to their streaming services, a Walmart+ Membership grants consumers free same-day or two-day delivery from their website and free delivery on grocery orders of $35 or more. With such comparable deals and competitive pricing that allows Walmart+ members to save over $40 each year when stacked up against Amazon, we wouldn’t be surprised of Amazon execs were sweating a little over this announcement.

Back in April, Walmart+ announced they would be giving members 6 free months of Spotify streaming, yet another advantage to add to the table, as seen in the above Instagram post from the brand.

However, Amazon still has an edge on the competitor when it comes to a few extra features. Additional perks for members include a year of Grubhub Plus, Amazon Music, Prime Reading, and more. The only question is whether or not people will think it’s all worth the higher price tag.
