Last year, Target completely re-launched their apparel offering by discontinuing several brands (Mossimo and Merona, to name a few) in favor of new house brands A New Day, JoyLab, and others. The response has been huge, and Target has launched more since.
Now it seems that Walmart is following suit by consolidating brands in the sportswear category (Faded Glory and White Stag are gone), and launching four new apparel brands, including women’s brands Time and Tru and Terra Sky. This is huge! After years of focusing primarily on jeans, underwear, socks and tees, Walmart is making an effort to offer better style and quality apparel to their shoppers–all the while keeping things affordable. You’ll see things like cut-out shoulders–but at typical Walmart prices. Yas!
The lines aren’t high fashion, nor would you expect them to be, but there are definitely some pieces in the collection that you’ll want to buy. And at $4 for the perfect tank, they’re incredibly guilt-free. Definitely worth a stop on your way to the milk aisle.
Here’s the low down on the new women’s brands, but we should also note they’ll carry Wonder Nation and George for kid’s and men, respectively. Now for the good stuff:
Time And Tru
This women’s apparel and accessories brand comes in sizes XS-3X, and includes elevated basics at Walmart’s can’t-beat-em prices, such as $14 for a black shirtdress. You also get on-trend details, like cold-shoulders, ruffles and embroidery–which is a first for Walmart.

Terra Sky
