Baked goods are perhaps one of the most delicious items to snack on. From muffins and cupcakes, to bagels and croissants, these carbs do not disappoint when it comes to satisfying your hunger. However, if you bought some from the grocery lately, we suggest you take a look at these baked snacks once again.

On June 30, allergy-friendly and gluten-free food company Enjoy Life Natural Brands announced a nationwide voluntary recall “of a limited quantity of a select list of baked snacks products due to the potential presence of hard plastic pieces.” According to the company website, the recall was conducted “out of an abundance of caution” and that they “became aware of this issue as a result of internal quality assurance surveillance.” The company announcement was also posted by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration as a public service.

According to an article published by Eat This, Not That!, “The items were sold online and in-store in the U.S. and Canada at Kroger, Wegmans, and other grocery stores. Additionally, more than 4,440 Walmart stores across all 50 states, Washington D.C., and Puerto Rico carried the affected snacks.”

Some items included in the recall were soft baked cookies, chewy bars, breakfast ovals, and brownie bites. Their “Best By Date” ranges from September 24, 2022 to March 13, 2023. To see a photo of the item and for a complete list of the product description and retail UPC number, click here.

“There have been no reports of injury or illness received by Enjoy Life Foods to date related to these products,” the brand mentioned.

However, they advised, “Consumers who have this product should not eat it and should discard any product they may have but should keep any available packaging and contact the company at 1-855-543-5335, 24 hours a day to get more information about the recall and how to receive a refund. Consumer Relations specialists are available Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. EST.”
