Beyoncé was styled in a range of looks for the cover shoot ranging from Thierry Mugler to her very own Adidas x Ivy Park collaboration. Bey opened about life during the pandemic—creating, designing, and her groundbreaking visual album Black Is King that came out over the summer on Disney Plus.

Queen Bey explained, “It started out simple, in my backyard. I wanted to do one or two videos for The Gift album, then it just grew. Before we knew it, we were shooting in Nigeria, Ghana, London, Los Angeles, Johannesburg, and KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, where we filmed with the women of the Himba tribe. And what an amazing collaboration it was!

Beyoncé also shared some adorable anecdotes about dressing up with her kids during the pandemic. She explained, “My kids and I came up with Fashion Fridays. Every Friday, we would dress up in my clothes or make clothes together and take each other’s pictures. It became a ritual for us and an opportunity to handle this crazy year together. The newest Ivy Park collection was inspired by this new tradition.”

Too cute! And honestly, a genius idea. We need to take a page from Beyoncé’s book and make Fashion Fridays a universal thing.
