Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are all smiles since they’ve stepped back from the royal family. It’s no surprise that it took some serious royal negotiation and support from those close to them for the couple to be able to finalize their big decision.
Luckily, Meghan has been able to lean on her own friends and family during this time.
Meghan traveled to Canada alone following her shared announcement with Prince Harry. According to PEOPLE, Prince Harry stayed in the U.K. to finalize the details revolving around their exit from royal life. Meghan, however, didn’t return to an empty house following her trip across the pond.
Sources revealed to PEOPLE that “Meghan had friends and her mom around while Harry remained in England.” Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, certainly seems to be a backbone for Meghan during this time of massive change.
Ragland has spent quality time with both Meghan and nine-month-old grandson Archie Harrison as they enjoy days together in Vancouver Island. A friend of Meghan’s told PEOPLE that Meghan “definitely gets a lot of her strength from her mother.”
Prince Harry has since reunited with his family in Canada following the finalization of the deal.
The couple was most recently spotted happily together on Valentine’s Day, February 14 as they landed in Canada after a trip to the United States. Their newfound independent life certainly looks good on them!
