Embarking on a weight loss journey often involves adopting a balanced and mindful approach to eating. While meals play a crucial role in shaping our overall nutrition, snacks can be strategic allies in achieving weight loss goals. The key lies in choosing snacks that are not only satisfying but also contribute to a healthy lifestyle. Contrary to the misconception that snacking hinders weight loss, well-chosen snacks can actually enhance the process.
TikTok user @amber_c_fitness, a weight loss coach that lost 160 pounds, shared some of the snacks she munched on to not only satisfy her snacking cravings but also help her with losing all those pounds.
One of Amber’s go-to snacks were Oh Snap’s Dilly Bites Fresh Dill Pickles, which she notes that “the whole pouch is [about] 10 to 15 calories,” and calls the them “elite” when it comes to taste and flavor.
Pickles can be a surprisingly effective and low-calorie snack for those aiming to lose weight. Their tangy taste not only satisfies cravings but also adds a zing to your snack routine. Additionally, pickles are virtually fat-free and rich in fiber, promoting a sense of fullness. The process of fermentation may also introduce probiotics, which support gut health. However, it’s essential to be mindful of sodium content, opting for low-sodium varieties when possible.
Edible Cookie DoughOf course, there were sweet treats on her list too for those who prefer something sugary but still healthy. “Any kind of edible cookie dough, but I particularly love the Favorite Day from Target. 120 calories per serving and is 28 grams so it’s [a] pretty decent size.” She ends by noting that this snack is “perfect for any sweet tooth.”
Modified versions of edible cookie dough can be a surprisingly satisfying and waistline-friendly snack. If you’re making them homemade, using alternative ingredients such as chickpeas, almond flour, or oats, and sweetening with natural sweeteners like stevia or monk fruit can create a healthier, protein-packed version. Edible cookie dough offers a tasty compromise, allowing you to indulge in the comforting flavors of cookie dough while keeping your calorie intake in check.
Other snacks on her list were Pop Corner’s chips, Like Air Puffcorn, and more. Portion control remains crucial, but these guilt-free treats can be a delightful addition to a balanced and mindful snacking approach.
