Wendy’s fans are criticizing the fast food chain for its purportedly increasing prices after a customer recounted her experience on TikTok of being charged an exorbitant amount for a Classic Single Hamburger with Cheese and a small Coke Zero. To express her discontent, TikToker Lesley (@lesleyetp) took to the platform and shared her story, prompting viewers to flock to the comments section and echo her frustration over the costs.

In the clip, she said: “all right, can we talk a little bit about fast food prices and how out of control they are? I’m having a little bit of sticker shock here.” She then showed her order and added: “I’m going to reveal to you how much this cost, but let’s play a little guessing game.”

Wendy’s Sparks Outrage as Customer Pays $8 for a ‘Single With Cheese’ And A Small Coke Zero

The Wendy’s customer continued: “So I just went through Wendy’s and got a single with cheese. That’s literally all that’s in the bag. A single. Not a Baconator, not a double single with cheese.” She stressed: “There are no fries in this bag. Just a single. Okay.” She noted that she also got a small Coke Zero. “All right, I live in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. What do you think it is for a single with cheese and a small Coke Zero? Put your guesses in now. Drum roll, please.”

Lesley went on, explaining that it cost “eight dollars and forty five cents” in total. “Are you kidding me right now? That is absolute insanity.” She concluded her post by asking viewers: “What are your thoughts?” They headed to the comments section to weigh in. One wrote: “Agree. Crazy prices these days.” Someone else commented: “I agree. The drink prices especially have gotten so ridiculous. The only good deal at Wendy’s is the $5 Biggie Bag.”

Over the past year, Wendy’s has consistently stated it has no intention of increasing prices during high-demand periods or adopting surge pricing. Instead, the company plans to experiment with dynamic pricing options that could provide discounts during slower periods.

However, according to customer reports on Reddit, some menu items appear to be getting more expensive. One user recently posted that they used to buy a plain cheeseburger for $1.89, but found that the same item cost $2.69 just a week later. They also mentioned, “Last week, Junior Bacon Cheeseburgers and Junior Cheeseburgers were $2.29… now they are $2.69,” and “all the double versions of those went from $3.29 to $3.69, and chicken nuggets from $3.29 to $3.69.”
