Realistically, there’s nothing you can order from Wendy’s that will really be good for your health. But sometimes the craving calls and you give in to ordering a decadent burger from your favorite food chain. While there’s nothing wrong with the occasional fast food meal, there’s one thing that experts warn you should always avoid putting on your Wendy’s burgers!
Creamy sauces like mayonnaise should be avoided if you want to eat your Wendy’s burger but not double down on the extra calories. While they may add an extra kick of flavor, fast food condiments are loaded with fat and sugar which will only weigh you down and leave you feeling heavy and bloated.

Fast food expert Alex Lenhoff warns, “You may not expect it, but adding mayonnaise, ranch sauce or smoky honey mustard will add more calories to your burger than adding bacon. These sauces also add a significant amount of fat to your meal. In fact, if you were to order a Jr. Hamburger, adding mayonnaise would increase the fat content by 55%.”
While mayonnaise is certainly delicious, you can add more flavor to your burger by asking for extra pickles, adding veggies, or sticking simply to ketchup and mustard. Lenhoff continues, “When you look at the ingredients for these sauces, it’s no surprise that they are so caloric and full of fat. The first ingredient in all of them is oil. If pouring 2 ounces of oil on top of an already greasy burger sounds gross, you probably don’t want to order any of these sauces.”
Wendy’s will never be your go-to restaurant for healthy foods, but if you do decide to dine there, try to avoid creamy sauces so as not to double down on unnecessary calories and fat. However, at the end of the day, one meal isn’t going to undo your healthy lifestyle!
