What Does It Mean If You Get A Free Drink At A Restaurant? Here's The Answer

Restaurants can be a lot of fun. The delicious food and drink options mixed with an enjoyable atmosphere are all things we look forward to when dining out. So, what does it mean when you receive the check and notice not only did you have a good time, but you also got a free drink?

The waiter messed up your order

If this is the case, chances are you said something when they messed up your food or drink order. As an apology, restaurants usually give complimentary food or drink items.

They give free refills

If you had more than one of the same drink and they didn't charge you, then the restaurant probably gives free refills.

Someone paid for your drink

If you received a free drink that you didn't order, there is someone in the restaurant willing to buy you a drink. Could be a secret admirer--who knows?!
