From cold brew to mushroom lattes, there is always a new way of drinking your morning cup. If you’re a coffee connoisseur, you might have heard of the latest buzz-worthy brew trend: ‘proffee.’
If you haven’t heard of it yet, get ready for the simple glow up to two morning staples.
Now, let’s say you are the opposite of a black coffee drinker. You need your cup to be sweet, creamy, maybe even frothy. Ashwagandha may prove a little too strong and bitter to blend into your morning beverage. No worries — there’s another popular spice that is more forgiving where taste is concerned but that has amazing health benefits: turmeric.
“Another spice that I highly recommend that people try out with their coffee is turmeric,” Pham says. “It’s a fairly mild spice so it won’t affect the taste of your coffee much, with some people even commenting that it enhances the flavor. In my case, I taste a slightly tingly and spicy taste from my coffee when I mix it in which does add to the taste in my opinion.”
As for turmeric’s health benefits, the list goes on.
“It’s a well-known spice that helps reduce aging,” Pham says. “It is known to have anti-cancer properties as well as having the ability to fight Alzheimer’s disease. Aside from this, the spice has powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that keep the skin fresh and young.”
The next time you reach for your morning coffee, also consider opening up your spice cabinet and adding a dash of one of the most best anti-aging spices that will add antioxidant benefits and flavorful pep to your cup.
