Losing weight is one thing—but keeping it off is where the real challenge begins. The good news? You don’t have to give up flavor or enjoyment to maintain your weight loss. By making smart, satisfying food choices throughout the day, you can stay on track without feeling deprived. It’s all about picking nutrient-dense foods that keep you full, energized, and happy—so your healthy habits stick for the long run.

Kaila Wenn, a wellness expert, recently showed a glimpse of all the things she eats in a day to “maintain” her 30-pound weight loss. Read on to get all her tips on what you should consume throughout the day to maintain your weight loss!

Before Breakfast: Berry-infused water

Before her workout in the morning, she opts for a berry-infused water.

Staying well-hydrated is crucial for metabolism, digestion, and appetite control. Sometimes thirst is mistaken for hunger, so sipping berry-infused water can help you avoid unnecessary snacking. Unlike sugary drinks or juices, berry-infused water adds natural sweetness and flavor without extra calories, sugar, or artificial ingredients—making it easier to stick to your healthy habits.

Breakfast: Open-faced egg and salami sandwich

Once she’s done with her workout, Kaila whips up an open-faced egg and salami sandwich.

Eggs and salami both offer a solid dose of protein, which helps keep you full longer, curbs cravings, and supports muscle maintenance—key for a healthy metabolism. By going open-face (one slice of bread instead of two), you cut down on carbs and calories while still enjoying the texture and satisfaction of a sandwich.

She says she “feels so satisfied throughout the day” when choosing high-protein breakfasts such as this one.

Lunch: Leftovers with pork buns

For lunch, she went with some leftovers and pork buns. These included rice, okra with meat of your choice, and greens such as bok choy.

The rice provides complex carbohydrates, which fuel your body and help prevent the mid-afternoon crash. Protein is key for maintaining lean muscle and satiety. Whether it’s pork, chicken, or beef, adding a moderate portion of meat helps keep hunger in check throughout the day. Okra and bok choy are low in calories but high in fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Fiber adds bulk to your meal without the calories, helping you feel satisfied and supporting digestion.

Dinner: Taquitos

Lastly, she ends the day with another balanced meal: taquitos.

Here’s her favorite recipe and how she makes it: Add shredded chicken (she uses rotisserie) and cheese of your choice on corn tortillas and roll it up. Spray oil, then bake in @ourplace wonder oven for 15 mins at 425F. Add toppings of your choice! She loves guacamole, shredded greens, tomato, onion, and LOTS of salsa.

Kaila reminds everyone that "every day looks very different! My philosophy is always to strive for balance and to honor my cravings."
