Whole Foods Just Made A Big Change To Its Store Hours–& People Are Freaking Out!

Whole Foods is closing stores early amid the protests following the death of George Floyd.

The company announced via a spokesperson and Twitter replies this week that it would be modifying store hours in select cities amid the civil unrest following Floyd’s murder at the hands of Minneapolis police officers.

“The DC locations has temporarily introduced limited hours from 8 am – 1 pm (Guests 60+, at high risk or with disabilities can shop in-store from 7 am). After 1 pm, the store will focus exclusively on grocery delivery,” the company Tweeted in reply to a customer on June 6.

Of course--not everyone is happy.

"You did this with no warning, no signs on your stores? Why are you so scared of peaceful protests?" Twitter user Keegan Parker replied.

"We are monitoring activity around our stores and are adjusting store hours or closing as needed to ensure the safety of our Team Members," a company rep also confirmed the new store hours to FOX Business.

"While there has been damage to several of our stores in recent days, that is not our highest priority at this time. We are focused on the wellbeing of all of our Team Members and our neighbors in the communities we serve." That is good to know!

The grocery chain is also changing online ordering windows for pick-up and delivery following the protests.
