Whole Foods Just Made A Huge Announcement--Employees Are Going To Be FURIOUS!

Whole Foods workers are furious over a change to the company’s attendance policy.

Employees are calling the change a ‘”slap in the face” and a “disgusting abuse” of those team members who kept the store running throughout the coronavirus pandemic. Yikes, what a mess!

Here’s the controversy: Whole Foods uses a point system to track attendance, so if an employee is late or misses a shift, they get up to one point.

After a certain number of points are accumulated, disciplinary action occurs. Normally, the points expire or are cleared after six months, so everyone can truly get a clean slate for good behavior after that time.

But apparently, Whole Foods extended the date of the expiration period by 111 days, Business Insider reports. Which means it will take WF employees 111 more days to earn off those absences.

The extension applies to points earned prior to March 3, so people who were absent from work during the pandemic will not get a chance to clear their points any time soon.

Attendance points that they racked up prior to the pandemic will remain on their records longer than expected. These means some employees will face "unexpected punishment for late arrivals or absences."

Additionally, it will make it harder for them to call out of work amid the ongoing threat of the spread of the virus.

"It's a slap in the face to everyone who showed up during the height of the pandemic," said an employee of a Philadelphia Whole Foods store told Business Insider. "To say those hours we came in didn't count — it's completely cruel."
